STEAM IRONING

A steam iron usually has a higher rate of power consumption as compared to an iron box. Because it needs to heat up water and produce steam, it uses more power and has a higher wattage. A normal dry iron on the other hand consumes less power and generally comes in 1000W of power, which is enough to iron the clothes.

Since fabric for clothing covers a wide variety of materials, the best clothes iron is a steam iron. Look for one with a variety of heat settings that cover delicate fabrics like polyester and silk or sturdier fabrics like linen and cotton.

Steam irons are more compact, but their larger counterparts are better suited to bigger items of clothing or bedding. Steam irons have built-in water tanks too, where the steam generated relaxes fabrics and removes creases. The higher the steam output, the better it will be at smoothing out your clothes.
